The Populous Project

The Populous Project was born on Thanksgiving of 2011, probably a good 20 years after I received the game as a youth. I set up a retro gaming station for myself the weekend before the aforementioned Thanksgiving and noticed that Populous was lying on top of some other games, so I popped it in to make sure my SNES was in working order. It was, but I continued to keep playing beyond just testing my SNES for functionality.

I started writing down the passwords in an old notebook I had appropriated for SNES passwords by using an eraser and erasing “SNES Code Book 1” from the cover. There was only one volume, but there were some old passwords for Populous that I recorded when I played it as a youth. I’ve added all those passwords as well as the current ones to this list, and I hope that I can eventually complete this!
